Long Locks

This is not the best picture, but I wanted to share how long AC's hair is when it isn't curled up. I had just washed her hair and blown it dry. I just can't believe how long her hair has gotten. It is actually a little longer than it looks in this picture because it had started to curl by the time I took this picture!

Sick or Not Sick?

Today was pretty typical. Church, lunch, nap, play. It has been raining all weekend, so we haven't been anywhere. AC had a rough day at school on Friday. The secretary called to tell me that she wasn't feeling well. I rushed to pick her up and found her sound asleep on a mat in the office. I expected a long weekend of nursing a sick girl. However, she never got sick. It's weird and I'm still puzzled by it. This child will sleep NO WHERE except the bed. Not the car, not the couch. Unless she's sick. When she's sick she passes out cold wherever she feels most comfortable. Just like she did at school. I was prepared to fight the stomach virus (which other classmates had) and it never happened. I'm not complaining.

However, there was something else that was bugging her. When we got home from school, AC started complaining that her boo-boo hurt. I finally noticed a big swollen knot on her leg with 2 red spots on it. It was so tender that she wouldn't even let me touch that leg anywhere. After calling the teacher and Daddy, I decided to take her to the dr. We feared it may be a spider bite. The dr. didn't have an answer that satisfied me. She said it was a scrape which it clearly isn't. Anyway, I've been watching it all weekend and it has gotten better. It's not gone but it's no longer swollen and painful. Weird, weird, weird.

Back to today. Here is my girl having a little snack after church.

Silly Girl

Wheels

My girl has her first set of wheels. She loves it.

I cried as I watched her pedal herself down the sidewalk. When did she get big enough for this? But I couldn't help but laugh when I heard her scream, "Mommy, me do good? Me GOOD!!!"

Little Girls

Sweet little lovely friends. What could be more fun than 2 little girls with completely opposite personalities? They are so good for each other.

Boo-boos

When I picked AC up from school today, the teacher handed me a form that was titled "Record of Unusual Incidents and Accidents." I'm not going to lie. My brain immediately went in to panic mode. What the heck happened? She appeared to be just fine at the moment as she jumped and sang. Before I could read any farther down, the teacher shared that AC had been stung by a wasp on the playground. She was pretty upset when it happened but seem oblivious to it just a few hours later. While we were discussing what happened, she managed to get scratched in the face by a boy in her class. So I brought my girl home with a swollen finger and a scratched up cheek and lip. It's been a day full of boo-boos. Oh, and my throat is still killing me. But I'm still the only sick person in this house, so I'm going to wait it out a few more days.

On a different note, AC has a play date tomorrow with her friend, Makayla, from school. Makayla's mom and I have become friends over the last few months and she invited us over to her house in the morning. Makayla is super shy and, well, we all know that AC isn't. I pray that it goes well. Makayla is also in the midst of potty training, so maybe her success will rub off on AC.

Sunday

Let me just start out by saying that the weather here was fabulous today. About 80 and breezy. It's probably as close to fall as we are gonna get and it may only last for today, but I enjoyed it.

This morning we went to church. We actually went to the church where AC goes to school. It was our first time there and we were happy with it. Sadly we didn't see her teacher there. She must have gone to the later service. AC was kind of disappointed.

We played outside for a while when we got home because the weather was so nice. Here is my girl running, running, running.

She is really into smelling flowers lately.

Then we went inside and all had naps. My throat feels like it is on fire. I'm not sure what's going on. I just hope I don't have strep throat. I'm pretty sure that strep is highly contagious and, as of now, I'm the only sick person in this house. So I don't think it is strep. But it is KILLING me. The rest of our day was spent playing inside and out. It was a good day here.
