She's over it.  "No more pictures, Mama."

Decorate-Your-Own

I'm not quite sure how it happens, but oftentimes I lose all my resolve when I'm in a store with AC.  I cave and end up buying things like this:
Melissa & Doug Decorate-Your-Own Piggy Bank

Most of the time I regret spending money on the little trinkets and sugar-filled goodies she says she "weally, weally NEEDS!!"  But this little guy was worth every bit of the $6.  She loved it.  She sat for 30 minutes and didn't make a peep while she painted.  I would ask her questions from time to time and she would respond with, "Mommy, don't bother me while I is paintin'."

And she didn't make a huge mess like I feared.  I will be looking for more of these "Decorate-Your-Owns" by Melissa & Doug in the future.  I googled it and saw a train, a teddy bear, a princess crown!  I'll pay $6 for 30 minutes of entertainment and quiet time any day of the week!

Oh, and Aunt May, she says she still wants a "bigger" piggy bank for her birthday with "wots and wots and wots of pennies!"  Ha!

Random Pictures

Lazy weekend here.  Here are a few random pictures from our week.

Bath time silliness

She says, "I'm so Hollywood."  I kid you not.

"A little peace here, Mom?  I'm trying to go!"

Someday she will kill me for putting this on the Internet.  Until then...
Oh the things you will do to get your kid to poop on the pot.  This was a failed attempt.

We love and miss you all.

Daddy and Me

Yesterday, Nathan and I were talking about where we want to live when we leave here. We have lots of options and plenty of time to decide. During this conversation, this thought crossed my mind, "If we had to pack up and move tomorrow, what would I miss the most about living here?" It only took me a few seconds to decide. Without a doubt, I would miss AC's school the most. And she would too. She absolutely loves her school and, even more, her teacher. So do I. You will see how happy she is in the videos below.

About the videos: Monday night was "Daddy and Me" night at AC's school. It was a night for the children to bring their dads and show them what they do each day. Daddy and AC had a great time. He shot these videos of her. FYI: Her partner in crime is her bff, Matilda. Enjoy!

School

Not much going on around her. Yesterday was "Daddy and Me" at preschool. AC and Daddy had a lot of fun. He has a few pictures on his phone, but we are having trouble getting them on the blog. I'll post them in the future if we can figure it out.

It's starting to get hot here. Today was 83 and there isn't any chance that it will get cooler. In just a matter of weeks, it will be around 90 everyday. Sigh. People keep telling me that I will miss this weather once we're gone. I can't imagine that this will ever be true. I. Hate. The. Heat. Period.

Anywho, this little picture makes me happy.
Sadie and AC

This beautiful little Sadie is AC's classmate. They are the only 2 of 10 kids that are still 2. But not for long. Sadie turns 3 in about 12 days! These girls are double trouble, I tell you. They are sooooo much alike that it's scary! I'm so excited that they have found each other and will continue their little preschool journey together for the next 2 years!!

Backyardigans

AC LOVES the Backyardigans. When I realized that she had a little Christmas money left, I ordered a few Backyardigan surprises for her. She was more than thrilled when the mailman came yesterday.

Here she is with what she calls her "bitty itty Yardigans."

Here she is opening the first package which contained this book:

It is her favorite at the moment!

Daddy's Home

AC's daddy came home yesterday, after 10 days away. He always brings her something back when he goes away. This time he forgot. So he took her to Target when he got home and let her pick out anything she wanted. I was fearful of how this would unfold as I watched them pull out of the driveway. About an hour later, they were home and she was so excited to show me her new toy. A tiny salon chair. Who would've thought? Not me!

She loves it. We had to take it in the car with us when we went to school this morning!

Puppets

My New Year's Resolution was to make more of the time I have with my girl. To do more things that get her little brain ticking. I vowed to spend more time teaching her, laughing with her, and providing her with a little more structure in our afternoons. It's been over 3 months and some days are better than others, but I'm still determined to make the most of these fleeting days I have with my 2 year old girl. Because I'm well aware that she won't be this little for long. I want to make every moment count. I'm determined to mother this little angel with no regrets. So, I said all that to say this very small thing...today I made her some puppets. Backyardigan puppets to be exact. While she was at school this morning, I created lots of activities for us to do when she woke up from her nap that afternoon. I knew she would love these puppets.

And she did. She carried them around all afternoon.

She wanted to have a tea party with the Backyardigans and her farm characters, so we stuck the sticks in little tubs of play doh. This could be the most genius idea I've ever had! HA!

On a side note: She LOVES this stuff.

And just to make you smile, a little video. FYI: most of her speech is not audible. She can be hard to understand at times, especially when she is pretending. Enjoy.

So while my house is a complete disaster and I have laundry up to my ears, I can count today among those where memories were made and the bond I have with my girl was deepened. She loves me, this girl. And for that I owe her the very best I have to give.

Easter Photo Overload

So I took about 100 pictures of my girl in her Easter dress. Here you go.

Giving me her best smile!

I said, "Open your eyes really big when you smile (because she squints)." Here's what I got! Ha!

Smiling while eating candy.

We hope you all had a great Easter weekend.

The Beach

We spent a little time in the sun this week! This girl of mine might just have a little Floridian in her after all. She loved every single minute.

The view from our room here.

Just checking things out after we first arrived. She loved all the pillows.

"Way up high in the sky," she says.

A little computer time.

Probably contemplating what she will throw off the balcony next.

Finally, we made it to the beach. She LOVED it!

Sunnin' and Snackin' with Nina.

Taking a little break!

A little pool time.

I'm still not sure how I was coerced into going down this slide...twice.

Taking a little bath in the room.

Enjoying a little dinner with Daddy after her bath.

Taking a little rest after dinner.

Here's a short video of her on the beach. It was too much fun!
