Toy Story 3 on Ice

We have been waiting for today for months!! When I heard that Toy Story on Ice was coming to our town, I couldn't wait to take AC! She has loved Woody and gang since the day her eyes first saw them.

I knew she would love it. So she put on her Jessie dress and grabbed her Jessie doll and off we went.

I asked Daddy to take a picture of me and AC and this is what I got. I can see how this might have been a sweet picture. He tried :)

The best picture I could get of Daddy and his girl.

The aliens.

Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Hamm, Rex, and Slinky Dog.

Woody and Jessie

She had a great time. She squealed when all the characters first came out. She couldn't take her eyes off the show. All 1.5 hours of it. She didn't want to leave when it was over. She begged to go on the ice with Woody and Buzz. We promised her she could drink milk from her new Jessie cup when we got home and she was satisfied.

We love and miss you all!

Friday

Her eye looks a little better than it did yesterday. The bloody spots have gotten lighter.

She had a good day at school. Ms. Lyndi's kids were there today and she enjoyed playing with the bigger kids. She hasn't had any potty accidents at school all week. Yippee!

I went to a consignment sale today and bought AC a few new things. She loves Little People, so I got her the farm and the nativity with all the pieces, animals, and people. $15 for both of them. I felt like I got a great deal!

Pink Eye Day 5

Today is Pink Eye Day 5 and I'm finally comfortable saying that I think she is on the mend. She kinda has to be because we're out of the drops!

Her left eye is still really bloodshot. But I think it's from the coughing fits she's been having at night.

She actually let me pick up her eyelid to snap a picture. It's still red with a yellow tint.

Besides being Pink Eye Day 5, today was also lots of fun. First thing this morning, we headed to AC's very first dentist appointment. I am very happy to report that she did excellent! She was very cooperative and not one tear was shed.

Patiently waiting for Mommy to get all the paper work filled out.

Waiting for her turn see the dentist.

Talking to the hygienist about all her tools.

Getting her teeth polished.

After the dentist, we went straight to AC's school where they had the "Animal Kingdom" (aka small petting zoo) set up. She loved it.

Ms. Patti offering AC a little bunny. She wasn't in the mood for bunnies at this moment.

Feeding the goats.

Feeding the burro but asking to catch a chicken.

This girl has loved horses for so very long. The flame is still burning, as you can see.

After the horse rides, she went back to the petting zoo and loved on the little pygmy goats.

Then she decided she did want to hold a bunny after all. She giggled the whole time. She LOVED that bunny.

Tomorrow is Friday and we have BIG plans on the horizon. A big Easter egg hunt at school, Toy Story on Ice, and Nina's visit!

Pink Eye Day 4

Not much change in Day 4. Her left eye has lots of those bright red spots (subconjunctival hemorrhage) which I think has been caused by lots of crying and a few long coughing spells during the last few nights. When I raise her eyelid, her eyeball looks kinda yellowish on the top part. I feel like I was able to actually get the drops in her eyes tonight. I probably put in more than I should have. Tomorrow will make Day 5 and most of the websites I have read said pink eye should be gone in 5 days. If it isn't noticeably better in the morning, we are going back to the doctor.

She loves this little Scentsy candle I have in the bathroom. She turns it on everytime she washes her hands.

About her hair: You have probably noticed that her hair has been messily pulled up in a ponytail the last few weeks. She has had a rash on the back of her neck for a few months now. I think it might be mild eczema. The doctor thinks she just has sensitive skin. Anywho, I keep her hair pulled up because the rash flares up when she gets hot. It seems to be really itchy too. Thankfully, it has almost completely disappeared since I've started keeping her hair off her neck.

Pink Eye Day 3

On Day 3, her eyes are a lot less swollen. The left eye is still worse than the right. The left eye is also really red under the eyelid. She is going to school in the morning, so I'm hoping it looks better. It's been 48 hours since her doctor's appt. She is no longer contagious.

Pink Eye Day 2

Today is Day 2 of AC's first bout with pink eye. This morning she woke up and her left eye was completely mated shut. Her right eye was just partially mated shut. After I got them cleaned off, she hasn't had any more discharge from her eyes. We started her meds this morning. Let me just say that I don't understand why in this 21st century there isn't a better way to treat pink eye other than drops. Drops in a 2 year old's eye? Are they serious? It's nearly impossible. I'm just praying she is getting enough in there to help them along.

I'm going to try to update the blog everyday that she has pink eye. I know you're all just dying to see pictures of this red-eyed girl! God willing, she will never have pink eye again. But just in case, I'm want to make a record of how this nasty little experience plays out. That way I'll know just what to expect.

Pink Eye

It seems AC has acquired a little case of pink eye. It's her first one. It's really yucky. She is so irritated by it. Hopefully it will be much better by this time tomorrow.

How Big is She?

AC had a 2 1/2 year visit with her pediatrician. Just a well-child visit/check-up to check her height and weight. She also got a shot. I can't remember what shot it was. I feel kinda bad about that. Anyway, at the ripe old age of 32 months, she weighs 31 lbs. and is 38.5 in. (3' 2.5") tall. This puts her in the 50th percentile for weight and 85th for height. In the past year, she has gained 2 lbs. and grown 5 inches. She is long and lean which still blows my mind, because I am neither of these things. She is her Daddy's mini-me, for sure.

We got the results of her allergy test back today. She was tested for all food and environmental allergies about 6 weeks ago. I was surprised to learn that she is 100% NOT allergic to any thing. Not one thing. Not even cow's milk which we have thought since she was 10 weeks old. I'm so happy about these results. Now we are going to start weaning her off the soy milk. Daddy and I are very excited about getting rid of soy. If your interested in why we don't want her drinking soy, read this. It is possible that she could be lactose intolerant. The test to determine this is much more complicated and not typically given to kids as young as AC. We are going to try the cow's milk once more and pray she tolerates it well before we worry about lactose intolerance.

On an exciting note, she had no potty accidents at school today! And she stayed dry the entire time we were gone to the doctor (almost 3 full hours)! Hooray! She has done excellent on the potty for months, literally, as long as we are at home. Now I'm just praying we can kick it up a notch and stay dry away from home as well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

When we got home, she watched a little Backyardigans. Daddy didn't think it was as exciting as AC did.

We love and miss you all!

Sunday

Here are a few pictures of our day.

Sometimes I can't believe her hair. It is beautiful.

Loving her ballerina shirt.

She has learned to hold the water nozzle against her chest and make it spray. She loves it!

I'm not ashamed to admit that I am so very happy that her spring break is over. She goes back to school tomorrow after a week at home. She is so excited!

This Little Light of Mine

Getting our vocal chords warmed up for church this morning. AC's also testing out a new shade of lip stick. Please disregard my loud voice and focus on the little one!!!

YouTube Video

Not sure why she wanted to sing "Frosty the Snowman" in the middle of "This Little Light of Mine". She's a funny one.

Two Years

Today makes two years since Granny passed away. I spent today doing the things I did last year. The small things that remind me of her. I often wonder if she would be proud of me. Proud of the person I am? Proud of the mother I am trying to be? What would she think of my girl?

I oftentimes pray that she is somehow guiding me and helping me find my way through this journey of motherhood. She was pretty great at it, after all.

The flower I bought on this day last year is still blooming. 365 days of blooms. Pretty amazing.

We miss you, Granny. Watch over us.

Grumpy

She's been contrary today. It's probably my fault. This morning I realized we had to go to the grocery or we were going to starve. I made my very long list and we left. I completely lost track of time and it was nearly 2 o'clock by the time we made it home. 2:00 is also the time for AC to wake up from her nap. She hadn't even been to sleep yet. So I had a decision to make. 1) Put her down for a late nap which would mean an even later bedtime. 2) Skip nap, deal with a grumpy girl, and an early bedtime. I chose #2. By 4 o'clock, her attitude was on a steady decline. Here is the evidence.

YouTube Video

You can bet that she will be tucked into her bed nice and snug right at nap time today!

Daddy's Ideas

It seems that Daddy is full of fun and exciting ideas lately. Like sticking tiny eyeballs to your forehead and then running around and screaming, "I'm a MONSTER! RAHHHH!"
Pretending to be a multi-eyed monster was the best idea Daddy ever had....until this one, that is. A homemade basketball hoop. She loved it. Daddy was trying to show her how to dunk it. She was getting angry at him for "not playing nice and not being gentle." At least she is listening to a few things I tell her.

Then Daddy went and outdid himself with a tasty little smoothie. She couldn't get enough. She drank so much that she later told me, "Mommy, my tummy is hurtin'."

AC and I are really glad that Daddy is so much fun! He really gets her imagination running wild!

Meeting Dora

I'm convinced that the greatest moments in life are those when you get to see your kid experience pure joy. We had one of those moments yesterday when AC met Dora for the very first time. We went to a birthday party for a little girl named Mia who was turning 2. AC was starstruck at first and then completely excited about seeing Dora!

Giving Dora a high-five. She also gave her a bear hug but I didn't get a picture of it!

Just taking it all in. Dora, Backpack, Map, balloons, a bubble machine, a bounce house, cake...she was in 2 year old heaven!

The birthday girl, Mia, playing limbo with Dora.

AC's turn at limbo!

She begged to have her picture taken with Dora and the birthday cake. I think she thought it was her party!

She had a great time! When Dora came on TV last night, AC acted as if they were best buddies. She would say, "Hi, Dora! We just saw you a few minutes ago! Tell Diego Anna Claire said hi!"
