A Chat

We decided to do a little crafting this morning. Here is my chat with my sickly little girl.

By the way, this is the song she is sining. Frere Jacques.

Ugh

For the past 2 days, our time has revolved around these trusty little guys. Yep, we're all sick.

Throw in one million episodes of "Mike the Knight," "The Backyardigans," and "Octonauts" and we will surely be on the mend soon.

I think AC is most upset over not being able to go to school. Hopefully on Friday!

Instagram

Today was very low key for us. Church, naps, "Bambi", playing, dinner. During the day today, I decided to play around with the Instagram app on my phone. Here are a few of my pictures.

She says, "Mommy, take a picture of me eating. Then let me see it!" So I did.
FYI: She is shirtless because she is eating ketchup. I hate trying to get ketchup stains out of clothes.

Daddy took this one.

Watching "Bambi" for the first time.

Terrible 2s

The Terrible Twos are kicking my tail. I was divulging this embarrassing fact to another mom at AC's school when she proceeded to tell me that 3 year olds are worse. Fantastic. Great way to lift my spirits, fellow Mom. I chose to be a stay-at-home mom, but there are days when I understand why some people want to work. Sigh. But my little tantrum thrower/master manipulator makes me laugh about 100 times a day, so it's worth it. It's totally worth it during moments like this. I assumed she was following me to the car this morning. She had to go to school and we were running a little late. When I realized she wasn't behind me, I walked back toward the door where I saw this.
She HAD to go back inside for her sunglasses, bracelets, and orange "fute". "Me show Wyndi my glasses!" she said.

Then later in the day, she insisted on accessorizing. She loves this hat and gloves I found in the $1 bin at Target.
So, I'm not complaining, just trying to keep it real. She's a handful, this girl. But I love her so.

Sunday

I'm keeping this short and sweet! I'm so sleepy!

AC was trying to hide from me this evening. She isn't the best at picking good hiding spots!

Later, she helped Daddy make pizza.

Taking a little taste!

We hope you all had a good Sunday!

Soaking Wet

AC helped Daddy wash the car this afternoon. She was soaking wet when they finally finished. Here is my little wet monkey eating a snack. All that car-washing made her 'starbing', she said!

Sometimes I am amazed by her hair. I guess I knew it would be curly, or at least wavy, but it is so curly.

We hoped you all enjoyed your Saturday.

Eyes

My love.

She makes me smile. Just after taking this picture, she asked, "Mommy, can I see it?" So I pulled the picture up and showed it to her. She stared at it for about five seconds and then said, "Mommy, you like my blue eyes?" I responded, "I do. I really, really do." She smiled and said, "I like your green eyes, Mommy. I weally do." I'm so glad she's mine.

Multitasking

I'm not good at multitasking. I'm actually terrible at it. Unfortunately for me, being a mom requires you to multitask. If you want to get anything accomplished, you must learn to entertain your child and work on your to-do-list at the same time. This is why my to-do-list is several pages long. I never get anything done. Most days I don't even attempt to make a list because I get overwhelmed with the mounting number of things I need to do and it stresses me out. But today, I decided to attempt to clean out my car. It had gotten to the point of "I would be MORTIFIED if someone had to ride with me" dirty. Here's how AC entertained herself while I was working.

She put a sheet on the driveway and said she was having a 'picwic'. Then she gathered up lots of random things from the garage to join her. Then she decided she would take her baby to the park. She found a little purse and her car and off she went, making laps around the driveway.

Then she found a stray bottle of lotion and began to "put medicine" on her dog and Dora Mermaid.
Shortly after this picture, she got lotion in her eye and we had to go inside.

So, I was able to multitask just long enough to vacuum up the muffin crumbs from last weekend and wipe out the cup holders. Maybe I'll attempt to finish it tomorrow. Don't hold your breath.

Happy Valentine's Day to all the ones we love!

We hope you all have a great day!

Balentines

This chilly Sunday was spent making preparations for AC's Valentine's Day party tomorrow.

Here is my little monkey before we left for Target to pick up her Valentine cards.

Here she is working on her "Balentines," as she calls them.

She picked Diego and Dora, naturally. They came with heart lollipops which made them practically irresistible!

Octonauts

Here's the video. I finally got it to work.

Some important info: AC is currently obsessed with the Octonauts, a new show on the Disney Jr. channel. You'll hear her pretending to be the main character, Captain. She is constantly pretending to be someone. Just recently, she has started to change her voice to sound more like the person she is impersonating. It is quite hilarious. Here she is in her imaginary world, which is where she spends a lot of time!

Frustrated

I've been trying to upload a cute video for the last 3 days. I just can't figure it out. I'm beyond frustrated. Aren't Macs and iPhones supposed to be the best you can get? Well, I'm fed up. Why is it so complicated/impossible to do simple things on these fancy devices. I'm giving up tonight. Maybe tomorrow I will have lost my desire to punch both my phone and my computer and I will try again. In the meantime:

My girl playing outside...in my shirt. Pretending to be a princess.

We made felt food. Sandwiches and pizza. Pretending that we own a restaurant.

She added a headband and some Ms. Potato Head lips. Pretending to be Mommy!
Just for the record, I never wear red lipstick! However, I have been seen in this particular pink shirt and tan headband on a few occasions...but never outside of my house! Or at least I hope not! HA!

Ordinary

Today is Mamaw's birthday! Happy birthday, Mamaw! We love you!!

It was a typical Monday around here. Just in case your bored, here are some ordinary pictures of our ordinary day.

AC likes to wear Daddy's hats.

I'm trying to teach her to look at the camera when I take her picture. She NEVER looks when I ask her to. Maybe it's because she's had a camera stuck in her face since the day she was born. It's old news. Boring. She doesn't feel like smiling for the camera. It's frustrating for me.
Her first attempt. Not too bad.
Her second attempt. Ha!

She quickly got tired of this little exercise and decided to ride off on her bike.
She's not wearing pants because she had two accidents yesterday. Sigh. This potty business is getting old.

She decided she wanted to try a green smoothie for breakfast this morning. She only took a few sips but I'm just surprised she drank any at all.

It has been raining since Sunday night. Wish me luck as I try to entertain this girl indoors. It's a messy job!

Elise's Party

Today was Elise's birthday party. AC has been begging to go everyday since she got invited 2 weeks ago. The party was at a horse farm nearby. It was so much fun for AC.

Elise and AC

Watching the horses

She hated waiting in line but eventually got a turn to ride one of the ponies. His name was Frosty and she loved him!

She also spent some time climbing this big tree.

Feeding the big horses. She loved it!

Taking her first swing at the horse pinata. She was actually pretty good at it (with the help of Elise's mom)!

Showing me her loot.

Sisters. Mia is almost 2 and Elise just turned 5. They are such beautiful little girls.

Eating her cake!

She had a really good time. We all smelled like horse poo when we got home, but it was worth it. I would call her first birthday party a success.

We would also like to wish our sweet friend, Rosie, a happy birthday! She is celebrating her first birthday today in Kentucky. We really, really, really wish we could be at your party, Rosie! We sent you a surprise in the mail!

We love and miss you all!!

Artsy

We've been feeling kinda artistic lately. In fact, painting with water was super fun!
The entire time she was painting this picture of Winnie the Pooh, she was singing, "Honey, Honey, Honey!!" from the Winnie the Pooh movie. She's only seen it once. I can't believe she remembered that song.

Wednesday was her friend Brooke's birthday. So when she and Daddy decided that this little creation was a birthday cake, I was not surprised.

This, by the way, was so much fun for her. She was entertained for a solid 20 minutes. So Moms of Toddlers, go get you some pipe cleaners and a colander. You can thank me later.

While all this craftiness was going on, I was working on this. Please don't be jealous of my 8 piles of laundry.
And this was just the towels. 3 days later and I'm finally done. Side note: All washers and dryers are in the garage where we live. I don't know why. My guess is that they would generate more heat for your already overworked AC unit if they were in your house. It's weird and not the cleanest of spaces. Anywho, we love and miss you all.
